Are you in the market for fireproof safes?
There are some basic points to keep in mind while shopping for one that fits your needs.
First of all, realize that the description of “fireproof” is relatively misleading; no safe is really, correctly fireproof, unlike the case with something that is properly labeled as being waterproof.
For while it’s possible to truly waterproof something and send it to the bottom of the ocean and never have a leak in a hundred years, fireproofing is something else altogether by comparison.
Fire is amongst the most truly destructive natural phenomena that most people will ever encounter.
Given enough time and, obviously, fuel and oxygen, it will digest anything on earth.
Therefore, there are no real one hundred percent perfect fireproof safes.
Things will certainly melt and burn given the necessary elements, including enough time.
It is because of this that the units sold to the general public are located in one, two, and three-hour varieties.
The length of time implies the amount of protection afforded.
There are even half-hour models for those who feel that any fire would be put out in good time.
Certainly, the average fire lasts for only twenty minutes – though in a world equally divided between both males and females the “average” human being would have precisely one enlarged breast, too!
And so we are at the second point to keep in mind when looking for fireproof safes: how much (long) protection is needed.
Unless you don’t have a dedicated full-time firefighting service available nearby, one and two-hour units should be enough in the overwhelming vast majority of probable cases.
“How much protection” also means whether you would need these features as a burglarproof design and, even, water resistance or waterproofing.
Also of importance would be whether the safe needs to be crushproof.
Eventually, it matters whether any computer media for instance optical discs would be stashed, as these items have vastly lower melting temperatures and call for specially designed units!

Receving your CPE online is de rigueur nowadays, as the convenience offered by the worldwide web is hard to beat.
Sure, continuing your professional education has traditionally been all about self-study correspondence courses, for the most part, and it continues to be fundamentally just that even online.
The difference lies chiefly in the degree of interaction which is now possible, offering much better methods of learning and learning maintenance.
For a few people, staying on top of developments in their field is a visceral joy.
But, to be frank, it is often quite a chore for most modern professionals, busy as they are with lots of other things.
Getting CPE online is making the best of the problem, leveraging technology to save time while promoting in-depth study.
E-learning is well-known even for those folks who love keeping up with all the changes in their profession, and for the very same causes of convenience also.
Convenience.
For today’s busy doctors, lawyers, and accountants, it’s a big part of the reason why they buy anything!
Paying another person to spend time with their kids, paying someone else to cook, paying someone else to do the laundry: it’s all about convenience.
CPE online is no different.
And it’s not simply lawyers, doctors, and accountants anymore, either, but nurses, physical therapists, social workers, teachers – even personal fitness trainers (yes, really); everyone is expected to stay informed about the latest breakthroughs and alterations in their domain.
The good news is, thanks to the power of the web, the requirement for continuing your professional education is easier than ever to fulfill.
It is also more reasonably priced than ever, too, with some companies offering free pilot courses!
But as ever, be sure to make certain that any courses taken would actually satisfy the CPE requirements your profession!
It’s an outstanding oversight, but it does happen – just don’t let it happen to you!

Not too long ago when investigating the W9 Form I noticed that every one of these tax forms that the Internal revenue service has us do can be quite bewildering. Even so we have to undertake it to be able to perform our obligation to the Internal revenue service and pay for our taxes. The W9 form is called for for those men and women who are referenced to as independant contractors or freelancers. In short, the W9 form reports your social security number or EIN (employer identification #) to the business that you will be doing work for at the moment. Really don’t become frustrated by a W-9 IRS tax form on the grounds that it is 1 of the few forms that is fairly easy to finish.

Taking CPE courses has always been a simple fact of professional life for those who choose to be doctors, lawyers, and accountants, but as a result of ever-changing world we live in nowadays it is now required of practically everyone from teachers and social workers to even private fitness trainers!
Normally, from a “bird’s-eye-view/big-picture” viewpoint, it is a good thing that the spirit of continuing education has permeated so many fields.
On the other hand, what could CPE courses do for personal trainers or, even, social workers?
Regarding the former, it is controversial that scientific developments happen at all times, new knowledge which should be incorporated into any exercise regimen.
While this is true in the abstract, in reality the fact of the
matter is that basic time-tested movements like the biceps curl are not likely to change – ever.
And it is precisely such simple physical fitness protocols that comprise the overwhelming bulk of what most personal trainers do every day with their clients.
Needing CPE courses of them sounds excellent in theory but it is in practice just for show.
It is arguably also unnecessary for a profession like social work, though this is certainly a much more controversial idea.
But let’s get back to the original motivation for continuing professional education – what is the point?
When it comes to medicine, scientific discoveries do indeed impact on healthcare.
Where the law is involved, changing politics will make for changed rules and regulations.
Same thing with accounting and taxes.
But social work?
How many new ways to counsel a drug addict (or homeless person, or single mom, or juvenile delinquent, et cetera) could there be?
Of course, there are many reasons why the profession of social work feels a need for continuing education.
But unlike with the traditional professions, it is not likely that these reasons have the type of impact they would regarding doctors, lawyers, and accountants.
After all, a social worker is no longer struggling to serve simply because he or she is unacquainted of the latest thinking in the field, whereas doctors, lawyers, and accountants can be irrelevant literally overnight if they didn’t keep up with current improvements!

Man, the way food prices are increasing these days, folks are going to have to start clipping dog food coupons!
No joke, that; worldwide, the price of dietary staples are increasing.
Even in the West, and even in America, of all places.
Why is this?
Well, dog food coupons notwithstanding, part of the answer is due to feeding animals – as in livestock, poultry, and so forth.
It takes several pounds of grain to produce one pound of beef, to consider but one of these.
By the laws of supply and demand, the prices of grain are going to increase; there’s only so much to go around to begin with, after all.
There is also competition for foods like corn from industry.
That’s right, industry.
No, nothing to do with dog food coupons this time – not even remotely – but everything to do with biofuels and other industrial uses for corn, soy beans, and the like.
Add to that the still increasing use of corn and soy in our foods as additives and again it isn’t hard to see how demand outpaces supply.
A whole host of additional factors are also included.
One of the greatest ones – according to many, the main reason – is the price of energy.
As in oil.
Petroleum.
The way things are in our modern world, everything depends on oil.
Industry depends on it, not to mention every other field of the economy and every other aspect of our lives.
And it is not just physical transport but production and processing.
Even increasing standards of living around the world, often a good thing, is to blame.
For more affluent people naturally wind up eating more meat, driving up demand and expenses.
Another big variable is the weather: droughts have afflicted Australia, on the list of world’s top producers, six years in a row.
Forest fires last year lead Russia to withhold its grain from export.
This year, China may actually have to import wheat; normally, it is actually the world’s top producer of the grain.

With regards to small business loans at this time, one would be better off taking a cash advance – such as one offered through B.F. Advance. That’s because there are no extensive time-consuming application processes to deal with, the kind that comes with a conventional loan from the bank, nor a fixed amount that must be paid back each month. B.F. Advance will only take back a mutually agreed upon percentage of monthly credit card receipts, leaving you with all the cash along with the checks. It’s a very flexible arrangement, in fact, and on top of that it’s actually available, whereas nowadays everyone else is extremely tight with their money!

Everybody wants to get rich.
And for many if not most, the way to get rich is to get into some sort of business.
But what is the best business of all?
Investing, naturally.
Just ask Warren Buffett!
Of course, success such as his is singular for many reasons, not all of which factors are replicable, whether to the same degree or at all, ever – but certainly everyone can invest, and win.
It’s just that this best business of all will take some solid character and even intelligence.
For beyond the number-crunching of data, beyond perhaps the correct interpretation of data that separates the good from the purely lucky, what’s necessary is character.
Yes, character.
Seems odd to speak of making cash and character in the same breath, but, as many who’ve “been there and done that” can attest, ultimately, the distingushing feature is the intangible one of character.
Not in the perception of morality, specifically, but undoubtedly in the perception of “nature,” as in the nature of a person, his or her natural personality, who the person is at the core.
Therefore, though being the best business of all since in investing your money is on your side as opposed to you employed by money, after getting up to speed in the field, after understanding all there is to know about how stuff works in the world of securities, there is the subject of character, of personality.
Without the proper character, investing becomes conjecture, a crapshoot – and as professional gamblers know, the house always wins.
Given enough time, any money earned is going to be earned back: lost.
Whereas in investing, given plenty of time, any money lost will be earned back – and any money gained, with gain anew, only exponentially!
So what are you waiting for?
Start reading now.
“Bone up” on your sound business basics – but most importantly, look to the instance of Warren Buffett and his mentor Ben Graham for an insight into how character, in conjunction with intelligence and diligent effort, makes for success in the stock market!

So you want to be a lawyer – or some career in the law, “even” a paralegal. But did you know that there is a lot of work involved? Not just getting into law school and doing well in it and graduating with honors, but carrying on to hit the books for the rest of your career? Yes, hitting the books – and taking exams, continuously, in the form of online CPE courses.
Now, to be sure, it’s not exactly like in law school, with other students and a professor. Indeed, the stakes are much lower, for one thing. As their name implies, online CPE courses are web-based, which suggests that no classroom attendance is needed. And in fact, learning is completely self-paced, unless you want to count the due date for earning a certain level of continuing education credits.
As a lawyer (or paralegal, for that matter), professional associations will be governing your standing, your credentials. In all cases, a certain level of on-going self-instruction is mandated to maintain one’s license to practice. Taking and passing online CPE courses are the means whereby keeping abreast of developments in the field can be measured. After all, the law changes regularly in reaction to each new generation of voters and politicians, not forgetting the judges set up by them!
Yes, no matter how much the legal profession would love to see itself as some kind of impartial arbiter of justice, the fact of the matter is, “the law is a handmaiden to power” – laws are made by those in power to serve their passions.
In a democracy, obviously, those interests will most likely mirror the will of a bulk of its citizens, but “often” does not always mean “always.” It does not even mean “most of the time!”
But those interests do change, and thus the need to stay on top of things.

A teepee, nowadays spelled “tipi,” can be regarded as a type of long-term camping tent used by Native Americans of the Great Plains.
It is only identified between the tribes of the American Midwest, as Natives from other areas utilize different varieties of dwelling.
Actually, calling a teepee a camping tent would be erroneous, as tents are not meant to serve as permanent shelter while teepees were just that for the Plains Indians.
But in alot of aspects the teepee can be looked at in just that way – besides the Natives were not simply out enjoying the Great Outdoors!
Indeed, “teepee” in the Lakota language merely means “house,” and being designed as portable shelter that was nevertheless permanent in all other respects, their construction was in many ways more advanced than much, if not all, of the tents out there nowadays.
Ironically, a modern-day teepee may indeed be not much higher than a camping tent as no one lives in them any more and they are only set up for ceremonial, educational, and even entertainment purposes.
The conical shape of a teepee is not only its most visually impressive characteristic but also its most important quality.
This conical shape provides for much that makes teepees so useful, from conveniences such as central open flames to sturdy soundness of structure in lashing winds.
The one real factor in which teepees suffer greatly compared to a modern tent, however, is its inability to completely prevent rainwater from entering in the midst of an intense storm.
Various strategies do exist to dramatically reduce the impact of the issue but none can compare to the water-proof qualities offered today – mainly due, it ought to be noted, to the need to keep an open flame for warmth or light.

In what may be an additional sad sign of the times, experts like doctors, lawyers, and accountants may now have to take ethics CPE courses. Yes, yes it’s true: as a part of maintaining their licenses to practice, these professionals may now be needed to learn the big difference between right and wrong.
To make sure, an ethics continuing education course is commendable, and if it is necessary then it is good that such a thing exists. But the fact that it must be necessary at all – since ethics courses already form a part of many people’s educational background, whether as undergraduates or in law school, med school, and so on – is disturbing.
Yes, life is full of morally ambiguous situations, and having an application that applies the eternal verities to modern times should prove beneficial. But ethics CPE courses only came about because of the many abuses that have cropped up within the careers. It is an unfortunate commentary that the problem should be so bad as to warrant such courses – for one may possibly presume that the certifying bodies governing professional licensure would not have compelled the requirement otherwise.
That said, and things being what they are, it is a wholly positive development that an official stance has come out against abuse and misuse. For the requirement of such continuing specialist education curricula demonstrates at least some measure of committment to ethical standards from the industry itself. The requirement, moreover, represents an agreed-upon goal: this is exactly what a lawyer is, this is what an accountant does, this is how a doctor behaves.
Not to pick on doctors, lawyers, and accountants, obviously, as the term “the professions” is also applied to K-12 teachers and, if the ACSM and others have their way, even to personal fitness trainers as well (!), but suffice it to say, one may view the emergence and increasing popularity of such curricula for a positive development.
