Controversy over the Small Business Tax Unreal

Exactly why are a lot of small business owners against a simple small business tax in the United States? Okay, so they would claim that they’re not against any such thing in principle, but only in practice, in terms of the quite high rates in particular. But how big are these rates, really?

For many people, a small business tax amounts to just around thirty percent of gross earnings. A third of all income sounds like a great deal, however throw in all the local, state, and federal tax breaks that exist, as well as tax credits and other special provisions for specific circumstances, and many a company with less than a hundred employees will wind up paying at most somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty percent, give or take a few points.

That’s a relatively modest form of small business tax, is it not? But why then do so many rail against it? Why do people not feel like contributing to the common good, whether in theory or practice? Could it be just a matter of greed? Or perhaps is it in fact a really deep-seated alienation? And not only are businessmen and women are in opposition to such taxes but even individuals who do not own a business!

It’s not simply that these people wish to one day be business owners themselves and therefore identify with the (imagined) plight of business owners. It’s a deep sense of alienation, even if they don’t recognize it themselves as such. Such individuals do not feel they have very much in common with the wider society, whatever lip-service they may pay to societal conventions. Thus they do not feel there to be a reason to contribute.

They would contribute to that which they believe to be important. So what is it about America where so many of its citizens will wave the flag but not vote with their pocketbooks?

Chinese College Flags for Governor Rendell

Despite an initiative well over a few years ago, the National Football Leage doesn’t appear to have much to indicate for its China expansion plans. Up to now, their business presence within one of the world’s biggest markets for sports has been…well, purely business, businesses associated with producing officially licensed NFL beach towels and so on. What’s happened?

What’s happened from those halcyon times of 2007 when a whole delegation of top NFL executives visited the country to introduce American football. Back then, a planned pre-season exhibition game dubbed the China Bowl was to have happened between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks at Beijing’s National Stadium (now popularly called “The Bird’s Nest” because of its modern architecture). It had been delayed then cancelled completely. Nowadays, the NFL’s China strategy seems limited to producing and selling…well, those NFL beach towels.

In fact, a reality show had been planned in 2009 but nothing has happened yet – most likely because an experienced industry executive from outside the NFL took a look at the idea and discontinued it! The NBA’s reality show focuses on cheerleaders, but the NFL was about to focus their show around…fan culture.

You heard right, fan culture. Tailgating parties, dressing up, what fans do around their cars before the game.

You heard right, this was the concept from the most lucrative sports league in the world, with some eight billion dollars in revenue every year.

Obviously, a lot of that comes in the form of corporate welfare, and it is not simply limited to tax breaks and subsidies for stadium construction.

But that’s a different story.

So wither NFL China? Have they failed because American football actually is, as is often claimed by those partial to soccer, just plain incomprehensible and boring?

Could it be that a world which could love golf and cricket – not to mention the interminable back-and-forth that is soccer – just does not care for NFL beach towels?

Renewable Energy Systems Future Savings For All

Renewable Energy Systems Future Savings” — this is the keyword phrase or search term some may use to scour the internet for information and facts concerning green means of energy production, delivery, and use. I suppose the long run cost savings part of it all refers to the economic benefits of implementing such technologies. On the individual level, two renewable engergy systems seem most practical: homemade solar panels and homemade wind turbines. The solar panels are more easily imaginable, as the wind turbines seem more complex. It is uncertain exactly how much money could be saved relative to the volume of power generated, but for a lot of people interested in such matters the motivation is hardly monetary!

Guerrilla Marketing On The Streets Of Times Square

An old-style New York electronics store like Lafnac Digital Computers is an easily recognizable part of city lore. Found in the heart of Manhattan, just off its world-famous theater district, Lafnac provides services generally to tourists, as may very well be imagined. But just a short distance away on the streets of Times Square, tourists are being treated to some real sleight-of-hand, carried out by highly telegenic and personable young men and women who pose as happy couples in need of help taking a photo!

It’s known as guerrilla marketing and it’s really sheer inspired genius. The really lovely young couple are actually employed to show the latest electronics to individuals, only in the guise of helping them take a picture with their camera or cell phone. By way of explaining how to work the gadget, they’re essentially marketing the product to unsuspecting would-be consumers – because of course only the most positive impressions are made!

The 1040 Form And The Stock Market

Quick: when you hear “1040 Form,” what do you presume of?

Taxes, yes, IRS, yes, April 15th, yes – but anything else?

Dollars? Yes, you’re getting warmer….

More exclusively, “money” such as “investment,” as in “stock market.” As in companies like H&R Block (HRB) and Jackson-Hewlitt (JTX).

Talk about the 1040 Form and if you think hard or long enough, you’ll gradually think about the tax preparation industry. So, how about it? Well, how about the simple fact that it’s a fantastic line of enterprise to invest your cash in? In fact, there’s a captive audience involved, and although profits are seasonal it’s guaranteed every year since practically everyone has to file a return!

A true winner, right?

Not always. Not anymore.

Like just about everything else in our world, computers have modified things significantly.

Tax preparation software carries on to be popular, and its utilization is even developing now that web-based services are available which require no installation procedures on one’s computer. The truth is, many of these web-based services are oftentimes free – that’s right, free!

It’s not because the organizations supplying them are doing it out of any altruistic impulses, obviously. In fact, far from it. For the IRS was about to take advantage of modern technology – as a final point – and offer online tax preparation and filing to all for free, but the industry lobbied intensely vs the idea. It would, after all, put them out of business. And while jobs are vital, so is serving the public good. And although jobs definitely fall within the description of a public good, so is making government more out there.

So, where to start?

A compromise was brokered which lead to online tax preparation software being free for those making under twenty-five thousand dollars a year approximately. In exchange, the government have agreed to not offer their own free preparation and filing service at the IRS website!

Now back to stocks.

Having preserved fee-based online preparation and filing services, the companies offering them are in position to continue generating money – certainly, to go on increasing their revenues as more and more people log onto the web to do their taxes. This puts those running brick-and-mortar operations, such as H&R Block and Jackson-Hewlitt, on the same road the dinosaurs found themselves, the fast track to extinction.

So, what direction to go?

The writing’s on the wall. It’s only a matter of time just before hardly anyone will do tax preparation and filing offline! The fact that some of these forms are entirely ridiculous and a waste of time, let alone money which is also quite as important, but there are actually counter forms to retaliate against time- wasting forms which virtually do unquestionably nothing with no increases whatsoever, that is, depending on what the cause may be. Makes sense right? Well in a nutshell let’s just say now they have much more proper forms which are appropriate and accounts directly to the cause of the form rather than a general form which follows up an appointment to format to the guy or woman what the actual reason is in filling up that form…maybe more. Makes more sense now doesn’t it?

Raise Credit Score From Within

Raise Credit Score” has got to be one of Google’s top day to day searches these days. After all, the overall economy is still bad – practically worldwide – and there seems to be no end in sight to the malaise. Nobody really knows how to handle it, it seems, with political leaders calling for all kinds of different steps to be taken even while economists debate amongst themselves, too.

That’s why most people are left to enter in “raise credit score” every day because they understand that those three magical digits given by FICO determine everything from where they live to how easily they can make purchases to even the very kinds of jobs available to them! For employers can be pickier than ever in this economy and quite a few make credit checks a routine part of the application process.

Hence all of the importance attached with credit scores. And of course there are many a credit repair company out there willing to help! They certainly can help to raise credit scores, but the greatest challenge of all for many will be to live very modestly and well within one’s means at that. For a lot of the problem oftentimes involves deeply rooted psychological issues which are up to the individual person to fully resolve.

All the assistance in the world is not going to help with regards to someone who feels he or she has to spend money. As a part of the overall credit repair process, it is very important look within and determine whether any lifestyle changes can be made to accommodate that process. This isn’t simply some type of moral prescription either, in reality; repairing your credit will mean paying down your debts, and that means doing without a good part of your income! So better get accustomed to living with less if you wish to raise that score.

Why Targeted Internet Traffic Is Better

Targeted internet traffic is the name of the game if you wish to make money online. Whether you’re selling a service or a product, or whether you are simply providing a forum for public discussion, it is all about having an appropriate level of long-tail eyeballs to sustain and even improve your business.

Niche internet marketing is where it’s at for your common layman or woman, the first-time webpreneur person just stepping into the world of e-commerce. Niche internet marketing means targeted internet traffic since you are not trying to sell to just anyone but to individuals that are definitely thinking about what’s available, plus it isn’t just anything that’s being offered but something they’re really likely to be interested in. This makes for potentially pre-sold customers, people who need very little convincing to buy!

This sort of online traffic is gold, almost literally. They understand what they really want, and the only selling to be done on your part is getting them to buy from you! It’s actually quite the win-win situation, really, where demand meets supply!

So how to get such targeted internet traffic to your particular site? Ah, that’s the trick, isn’t it!

Typically, you’ll need to be found. How do they find you? Generally, through a search engine. How does that work? Well, suppose you offer widgets for sale. Potential customers key in “widgets” and, if your internet marketing efforts are working, they should see your website listed in the results.

Basically, it’s the 21st Century version of the old Yellow Pages, except this time around you don’t have to pay to be listed. Or, rather, you can pay to be listed, however it will cost a lot of money. Although with good quality seo, you may be able to achieve the same outcome, more or less, without spending as much money!

Support Your Favorite Team With College Flags

Maybe Governor Rendell can get the college flags of a Chinese team?

Over the recent Great Blizzard of ’10, the NFL decided to cancel a scheduled game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings because of the inclement weather – and, more notably, the near-impossible traveling conditions. Governor Rendell, however, complained about the actions, stating that the move was among the latest illustration of how America has become a “nation of wussies.”

Unquote.

So just how did Chinese college flags get dragged into this?

Well, insofar as the governor went on to reference the Chinese – which is quite the fashion in Twenty-first Century jeremiad composition, such that even liberal NYT columnists like Thomas “Flat World” Friedman has taken up the pastime – by comparing the American lack of intestinal fortitude to the mythical Chinese (“people would have been marching down to the stadium…and they would have been doing calculus on the way down”), perhaps he should more appropriately be rooting for a Chinese football team.

Perhaps the NFL can expand into the ever-expanding Chinese market and encounter the type of success that has greeted the NBA?

Workers at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philly Eagles, managed to get the last laugh, though – or maybe not, as the governor also good-naturedly shared in the joke. When the Sunday game resumed on Tuesday night, a pile of snow and also a sign declaring the seat is to be “reserved for non-wussies” marked out Rendell’s seat from those of others in the stadium. Laughing it off, he took his seat and even removed his winter hat – most probably to better project his machismo.

Unfortunately, however, the only real NFL expansion programs for China at the moment seem limited to the manufacturing of officially licensed team jerseys, beach towels, and maybe some college flags.
